Grupo 21 (G21) is a volunteer-based nonpartisan initiative born out of a deep desire from stateside community leaders and elected officials of Puerto Rican heritage and our allies to further our efforts in support of a diverse and inclusive Executive Branch at the federal level.
MISSION
To empower qualified candidates of Puerto Rican descent to secure impactful positions in government.
WHY GRUPO 21?
The number 21 reflects our commitment to promote an Executive Branch that embraces diversity and inclusiveness and therefore mirrors 21st-century America. The number 21 is also a tribute to the life and extraordinary on- and off-the-field contributions of the late Puerto Rican and professional baseball player Roberto Clemente, who wore the number 21 during his days with the Pittsburgh Pirates. One of our early success stories started with the support of the Clemente family, whom we reached out to ask for their permission to use the number 21 in our name and graciously agreed to our request.
